Gallery Walk in West Chester- Friday, June 3, 2011

Linda Dubin Garfield, one of the artists in the ART to You Gallery, will be participating in the Gallery Walk in West Chester on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 5 to 9 PM. This is the 22nd Gallery Walk in the town. Linda has several of her new mixed media print series on display at Z Gallery at 109 W Gay Street, right in the heart of downtown West Chester. There are several galleries open as well as stores and restaurants so it is a great destination for a fun evening.

Closing Reception at Nouveau Condominium- April 7, 6-8:30PM

ART to You Gallery, a group of 15 professional women artists, will be having its second art exhibit/open house in collaboration with Keller Williams Realty at the Nouveau Condominium in Old City Philadelphia.

A closing reception to meet the artists and tour a furnished sample condominium will be held Thursday, April 7 from 6 - 8:30 PM. The art exhibit and the reception are free and open to the public. The Nouveau Condominium is located in Old City Philadelphia at 122 New St. (between Race and Vine and between 2 ND St. and the Delaware Expressway) Philadelphia, PA 19106.

ART To You Gallery has teamed up with Keller Williams Realty for this unique opportunity to buy art directly from our artists. Ellen Abraham "developed a passion for politics and parody at an early age" which pointed her in the direction of political cartoons and satire.
Her artwork has developed over the years from simple childhood drawings to more complex compositions which combine figurative and abstract images in a humorous way.

She says of her "Funny Fine Art"...

   "I hope my ability to conjure up the absurd, the ridiculous, the comic in paintings will induce people to laugh at the images and also think about the content which usually deals with the perversity of the human condition. My work is a synthesis of humor and fine art that is sown from the depths of comic outrageousness, satirical observation and mild misanthropy. If Matisse had, 'the sun in his belly', I sometimes feel I have a banana peel permanently attached to my shoe. Matisse said that he wanted his paintings to become a 'comfortable easy armchair for the viewer.' I want my work to be the whoopee cushion under that armchair."
